The $16 admission price includes all activities (live music, barnyard animal area, herb garden, game area, Fall art galleries, photo ops, observation beehive, and special events) as well as one pumpkin of any size from our patch. The only additional charges you may encounter at the Pumpkin Harvest are for food and drink, souvenirs from our country store, and arts & crafts items on weekends.

When doing research on visiting the Smith Family Farm Pumpkin Harvest, please be sure that you are looking into the correct farm (there are several Smith Family Farms in the U.S.) and be mindful that articles and blog posts on our farm from previous years may be outdated.
The Smith Family Farm Pumpkin Harvest opens on September 27th and is open daily from 9am-5pm through Halloween. Our fruit stand remains open through Thanksgiving with a selection of pumpkins, seasonal fruits and squash.

Entry to the farm closes at 4:30pm, but we strongly suggest arriving no later than 4:00pm. On weekdays, the last music show begins at 3:30pm. We do not offer discounted rates or multi-day passes for late arrivals.

Our farm closes promptly at 5pm every day, and we ask visitors to pick their pumpkin and begin heading to the exit by 4:55pm.
Unfortunately, we can only allow ADA-compliant service animals with proper documentation into the farm. While we love dogs, they can startle, harm, or transmit illnesses to many of our animals. There is also the concern of pets going to the bathroom in our pumpkin patch. Overall, if all guests that wished to bring their dogs were able to do so, the Pumpkin Harvest would be a very different experience, and it would hurt our ability to assure the safety and satisfaction of all of our guests and animals.
Babies under 2 years of age (24 months) are free. All visitors ages 2 and up pay a general admission of $16, which includes a pumpkin of any size. We do not offer discounted rates for late arrivals or guests who do not want to take home a pumpkin.
If you'd like a pumpkin for your baby, affordable baby-sized mini pumpkins are available for sale in our country store. Additional pumpkins of all sizes are sold at our roadside fruit stand, open daily until 5:30pm.
The Pumpkin Harvest includes one pumpkin from the patch per paid admission. Each guest aged 2 and up (24+ months) receives a ticket upon entry which they must hand in at the exit in order to take out their pumpkin. This system is meant to ease the movement of guests in and out of the farm.

To buy extra pumpkins, we strongly recommend doing so at our roadside fruit stand, where we have all of our varieties in stock, as well as mini pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and other Fall decor. The stand closes a half hour after the Pumpkin Harvest (5:30pm), so visitors will have time to shop for extra pumpkins after the Pumpkin Harvest is closed.
We had to discontinue our hayrides during the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are not able to bring them back due to a variety of factors. At this time, we don't have the capacity to provide hayrides to all of our visitors, and the idea of having hayrides for only some customers at an additional cost goes against our values.

Hayrides are still featured as part of our Spring school tours, recommended for groups of children ages 3-8.
Our barnyard animal area is not technically a petting zoo, however our animals are very people friendly. On weekends, we have a corn cracking station where children can help feed our chickens. Weekends also often feature staff-supervised encounters with baby chicks and ducklings.

Other animals include our goats, as well as visiting baby animals from neighboring farms, such as piglets and sheep. Our chicken coop has a pair of male peacocks who go through their annual molting process during the Fall season. To see them in their full splendor, visit us during the Spring season.
Unfortunately, we do not have our own facilities on the farm for preparing hot food. On weekends, we have fresh corndogs from Dean's Dogs as well as 1-2 food trucks (frequent guests include Ofie's Kitchen and Street Steam Bunz ). Coffee beverages from Rocco Café are available on weekends from 9am-2pm. Our snack shack is also open on weekends and features $1 bags of fresh popcorn, ice cold drinks, and exclusive flavors of Smith Family Farm ice cream.
Our country store in the center of the farm is open daily and has chips, candy, nuts, fall fruits and beverages for sale.
Outside food and (non-alcoholic) drinks are allowed. Personal barbecues and grills are strictly prohibited.
While we encourage groups and families to celebrate special events at the Pumpkin Harvest, Smith Family Farm no longer allows for groups to reserve space in the picnic area or hire outside entertainment.
Birthday parties and similar events are therefore welcome, as long as guests are aware that picnic area seating is first-come-first-served. Cakes and outside food like pizza or sandwiches are allowed, but under no circumstances can guests prepare food on the farm (i.e., no grills).
Contact us ahead of time if you would like to pre-pay for invitees or provide a guest list.
Weekends are the best time to come, as they feature extra activities (face painting, extra musical guests, animal encounters, beekeeper visits, etc), food trucks, arts & crafts vendors, along with special events such as Tomato Day and Antique Tractor Weekend. If you wish to come when it is less crowded, weekdays between 12pm and 4pm are typically very quiet. On weekdays, there are only two afternoon music shows, at 1:30 and 3:30.
There are no hot food or food trucks on weekdays, but outside food is allowed.
Weekends typically feature larger and more valuable pumpkins in the patch, since weekday mornings are reserved for school groups of small children.
